HMP Manchester
HMP Manchester, widely known as Strangeways, is a high-security men's prison in Manchester operated by HMPPS, holding both Category A and Category B prisoners. Designed by Alfred Waterhouse and opened in 1868, it was rebuilt after the 25-day riot of 1990 and reopened in 1994.
