HMP Altcourse

HMP Altcourse is a historic prison in the UK, in that it was the first prison to be completely designed, constructed, financed and managed by a private company. G4S, the company responsible for building this prison, still manage the establishment, which opened in 1997. It is a category B prison, for both male adult prisoners and young offenders, and its capacity is now 1,033.
