The danger to them and to other road\nusers was obviously high. Therefore, the harm was high.\nReputational harm. It is a matter of public importance\nthat the roads are policed safely, and it is a reasonable\nexpectation of police to confront the harm caused by\ndrink driving as well as other road traffic offences.\nDriving having consumed excess alcohol is a serious\nimprisonable offence. Should a police officer commit\nsuch an offence the reputational harm to policing is\ngreat.
